A couple of Canadian scenic rail tour companies have been included in a list of the best train trips in the world.

Condé Nast travel magazine has released the rankings of its 35th , which include everything from the world's top cities to the best resorts to the most beloved train rides and more.

Western Canada's popular Rocky Mountaineer placed 15th overall, with readers praising the train's picture windows and glass-dome ceilings. The luxury rail tour operator takes guests on awe-inspiring trips through the Rocky Mountains, connecting Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to Banff and Jasper in Alberta.

"The staff’s friendly service and animated storytelling help bring the landscape to life. It’s personal touches like those which keep travellers coming away from this trip amply satisfied time and time again," explains the report.

Since it was founded in 1990, the Canadian rail tour company has transported over two million guests, "making it the largest privately-owned premium tourist train in the world."

A special sleeper service offered by Canada's national rail carrier, VIA Rail, placed just ahead of the Rocky Mountaineer in the 14th spot. "The Canadian" service allows passengers to soak in spectacular views from the comfort of their rooms while travelling across the Great White North.

The Canadian connects Toronto and Vancouver, with stops in Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Jasper but the route goes in either direction.

"If you’re travelling in the comfort of Prestige Class—with your own private cabin, private washroom and built-in TV screen monitor with video selection—you’ll be perfectly content to take in the journey from the privacy of your very own picture window," said the report authors.
