Kaboom! The love child of comedians Jeff Kubik and Alan Cho has found it’s pale, nerdy legs in its monthly slot at Yuk Yuk’s. I saw the show in its origins at Birds and Stones a few years ago, and am very happy to see they’ve established a consistent program in one of Calgary’s venerable comedy clubs.

Mike Chapman knows his coffee. Last week, the former  brewer opened, a craft coffee shop that focuses on what’s important: making a really good cup of coffee. The café is the latest to join the slow-coffee movement focusing on made-to-order coffee and espresso.

Winterlicious is running in Toronto from January 30th until February 12th, 2015. The two week winter culinary experience sees Toronto restaurants creating 3-course prix-fixe menus for both lunch and dinner. Lunch menus will run you $18, $23 & $28 with dinner menus costing $25, $35 & $45.
