Welcome to the latest series of Super, Neighbours blog posts where we highlight incredible travel destinations in British Columbia! |
have a boathouse/kayak launch right on the property at Rockwater, so you don't have to go far to step into a paddling tour that'll take you to three boat-access-only marine parks. This is the view from on top of the boathouse - the tenthouses are to the left and the lodge and restaurant are to the right.
Well stocked and well friendly, Cam Reid and his wife Shannon run this small business where they take people out for day trips and they also go on multi-day excursions that lazy travelers like myself might never find themselves on. We opted for a 4 hour trip.
With the fall/winter season comes unpredictable weather so it's never promised that you're going to get out on the water, so this is where we insert the sad trombone into this post: It was so windy on the day we wanted to go out that Mother Nature blew the "strong winds" note off of the daily weather report sign. Gale force winds were expected so we took a rain cheque on the outing. If all goes well we'll be back at Rockwater this summer and we'll show you then what it's like to tour the protected nature of the area, inches from it in a kayak.
Stay tuned for our fifth and final post on where we take you inside the Spa Without Walls!
