Porter Airlines jokingly calls out Air Canada for copying its in-flight experience

"What's next, a raccoon mascot?"

Porter Airlines took to X to share a picture of its trademark mascot raising a glass with what appears to be an Air Canada stir stick and winking. The post was in response to news Air Canada was adding free premium snacks and drinks on some routes, which has been a Porter perk for sometime.

Porter Airlines offered a sassy response to Air Canada's announcement that it would provide free beer, wine, and snacks to all passengers.

Air Canada will now offer all guests complimentary wine, beer, and premium snacks on domestic and transborder routes. Previously, only customers flying internationally or in Premium cabins got complimentary beer and wine.

But Porter quickly reminded Air Canada - and the county's travelling public - that it has been offering the same perks on domestic flights for years.

Porter took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a picture of its trademark mascot, a black-and-white raccoon named Mr. Porter, raising a glass with what appears to be an Air Canada stir stick and winking.

The caption in the post reads:  "Air Canada has now joined Porter in offering free beer, wine and snacks to all passengers. Thanks for joining our mission to help everyone actually enjoy economy!"

The airline also quipped, "What's next, a raccoon mascot?"

Porter offers beer, wine, and snacks to economy-class passengers on all its flights. However, customers must purchase meals on some flights.

Air Canada customers can now choose between craft beers like Hop Valley and Creemore Springs Premium Lager, as well as familiar major brands like Molson Canadian and Coors Light.

The airline will offer wine from France's Paul Mas, pouring one red and one white.
