Richmond’s latest luxury hotel is set to open this week, along with a rooftop pool.
The Versante Hotel, a few minutes’ walk from the Canada Line Bridgeport Station, is understood to be the only hotel in the city with a rooftop swimming pool.
The pool, as the Richmond News discovered on Tuesday, has views to the south of Mount Baker and to the northwest and northeast of the River Rock Casino and Capstan Village.
The hotel’s general manager, David Curell, said they initially planned to open the hotel back in 2018, but the pandemic put a hold on it.
“We are doing a gradual opening. We will open half of the hotel and each week will add on (more),” said Curell.
As an independent hotel based in Richmond, Versante is owned by real estate developer Michael Ching.
The hotel has 100 guestrooms and suites, and the second-largest suite will roughly cost $5,000 per night, according to Curell.
