Canada Jetlines announced the delivery of its first A320-200 aircraft from Jackson Square Aviation. The airline aims to offer low-cost options in 2022.

Fans of low-cost Canadian flight options will be excited to hear that a new airline is one step closer to taking off.

Canada Jetlines Operations Ltd. recently announced the delivery of its first A320-200 aircraft from , a leading global commercial aircraft lessor, which offers "customized fleet solutions and proactive services," explains a news release.

With a projected growth of 15 aircraft by 2025, Canada Jetlines says it "aims to offer the best-in-class operating economics, efficient aircraft design, and accessible flight options without sacrificing quality or convenience."

Slated to launch operations in the spring of 2022, the Canadian carrier plans to offer affordable travel with a variety of travel options to popular sun destinations.

For many years, Canada-wide travel was dominated by the country's two largest airlines, Air Canada and WestJet. However, WestJet's discount carrier, Swoop, has offered a viable alternative to historically costly routes.

Similarly, Flair Airlines, launched in 2005, has grown substantially in recent years, now servicing a whopping 28 destinations across Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Most recently, the bargain airline added a nonstop route from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Los Cabos to its ever-growing list.

“This is a milestone day for our team as we get to witness the inception of our branded fleet, with the delivery of our first aircraft,” shares Brad Warren, VP Maintenance Operations for Canada Jetlines.

The new carrier has chosen Moment, a technology company that has developed a wide range of infotainment solutions in the transportation industry, to equip its growing fleet of Airbus 320 aircraft.

The "Flymingo Box" system will offer a flexible, aircraft-powered digital suite with wireless inflight entertainment options including real-time travel information.

Canada Jetlines states that passengers will be able to easily connect to a local cloud via their browser and access entertainment services directly on their mobile devices. "Designed as a compact, battery-operated or aircraft powered server, the system has the capacity to provide video streaming to 100 passengers simultaneously."
