WestJet's discount carrier, Swoop, has slashed prices on return, direct airfare to Mazatlan, Mexico from the Lower Mainland this fall and winter.
The airline is offering one-way fares to Mazatlan start for as little $120 CAD including tax and fees, and return flights for just over $200 CAD.
For example, the flight below departs Abbotsford on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020 and returns on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020. The total price, including taxes and fees, comes to $216.03 CAD.
Since Swoop flies out of Abbotsford, Vancouverites have to make a trip into the Fraser Valley in order to catch their flights. As a result, many locals skip the low-cost option because they don’t want to spend the extra time or money getting to the airport.
For those who are looking to save, but don’t want to spend big bucks on a cab or leaving their car at the airport, there is an alternative: Reliable Bus. Find out more information about the cost-effective transit option .

The sale will run until Oct. 11 (11:59 p.m. MT) or until sold out. So, while there’s still over a week to finalize your travel plans, the lower fares may sell out early. As a result, it’s recommended to book as soon as possible in order to reserve the lowest fare.
There are a number of other fantastic destinations included in the sale, such as Puerto Vallarta, Las Vegas, and Hamilton, Ontario.
Note: While the low-cost carrier is an extremely affordable alternative, it is worthwhile to note that there are a number of additional costs. For one, luggage will cost extra, as will selecting your own seat or even speaking to an operator. As such, it is important to factor in what you need to bring, or if you want to sit in a particular spot prior to making a purchase.
