Take advantage of some low-cost fares from Swoop out of Abbotsford before the airline stops flying later this year.

Several flights out of the Lower Mainland on a couple of popular domestic routes are ultra-cheap right today.

WestJet's discount carrier, , is featuring discounts on some already low-cost options across Canada, including the routes connecting Abbotsford International Airport (YXX) with the London International Airport (YXU) in Ontario and the Edmonton International Airport (YEG) for travel between Aug. 14 and Aug. 25.

The route connecting the John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport (YHM) with the Charlottetown Airport (YYG) on Prince Edward Island is also included in the "FlyDay" deal offers.

Tickets must be booked by Friday, July 14 at 10:59 p.m. to take advantage of cheaper tickets during the peak travel season. To claim the discount, enter the promotional code "FLYDAY" during checkout to get 30 per cent off the base fare of the flight.

On June 9, WestJet said it will be winding down Swoop's operations, citing fierce market competition. Existing Swoop flights and packages won't be affected by the announcement and customers may continue to book tickets. Swoop does not have any bookable flights beyond October 28, as the carrier hasn't published a schedule beyond that date.

One-way tickets during the applicable window start for as little as $28.99 from Abbotsford to Edmonton. The base fare of these flights is $16.54 and you can get 30 per cent off that cost. This means that you subtract $4.96 from the total, which means the final price of the flight works out to $24.03 including all taxes and fees.

Fly across Canada for a steal with Swoop this summer

Flight prices across the country during the summer have already started to climb up, with most routes to Toronto priced hundreds more than they are during the shoulder season. Tickets to Ontarian cities located near the larger city offer significant savings during this time, even before a discount.

The cheapest ticket during the applicable dates departs Abbotsford on Tuesday, July 25 to London, priced at $128.99 before the discount. The base fare of the flight is over $100, meaning that the savings are comparatively higher on these flights. Thirty per cent of the base fare ($111.78) is $33.53. You can take that price off the total cost of the flight, which means the final price is $95.46 with all taxes and fees.
