Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»filmmaker has tackled many subjects, near and far, and his latest short documentary took him somewhere that many people never see.
Pelletier and a friend visited Indonesia, in search of volcanos, and to meet the people who live in their shadow, day in and day out.
"Throughout our time in the region, we discovered a world and culture that has rarely been seen by outsiders," Pelletier said via e-mail. "With 75% of Indonesian people living within 100km of a Volcano, the amount of people intertwined with these ancient beasts was staggering."
Amazingly, Pelletier found that the Indonesian people simply do not live in fear of the volcanos.
In November, Mount Agung on Bali erupted, leaving destruction in its wake, along with many tourists--including Canadians--stranded until the airport re-opened.
Take a look at Pelletier's film "Amongst Fire" to learn more about what he saw.
