Hot deal alert: You can fly from Los Angeles to Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»for only $59 incl. tax

You might be surprised how cheap a flight is back from the City of Angels.

Thinking of taking a slow trip down the coast from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to Los Angeles but want to fly back?  You might be surprised how cheap a flight is back from the City of Angels.

Round-trip flights from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to Los Angeles are some of the most affordable options on the market at virtually any time of year. Not only are they convenient -- the flights are direct and take under three hours -- but they also typically cost well under $300 including all taxes and fees.

Ultra-low-cost carrier Flair Airlines has brought the prices of round-trip tickets from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»International Airport (YVR) down drastically, with several options totalling under $200 and even $150 return. To snag one of these economical options, use Google Flights' price calendar to select the cheapest dates.

While multiple dates cost under $200, you may have to get creative to book a ticket between $140 and $163. For example, a flight that departs on June 19 and returns on June 23 costs $153 including all taxes. However, the flights need to be booked separately through Flair.

If you are only looking for a one-way flight home, the budget airline offers a flight from LAX to YVR on Thursday, June 20 for only about US$44, which converts to C$59 (see the second slide).

This option is also ideal for people who fly into another airport, such as San Diego or San Francisco, and then fly up from Los Angeles. If you try to book them together on the same ticket, they may end up costing more.

Travel tip: Flair Airlines baggage policy

Canada's ultra-low-cost carrier may appear to have the cheapest option -- but you might want to have a look at the final price after you add up the cost of luggage.

While most carriers offer a free carry-on bag, Flair Airlines will charge you for one. You can purchase a basic bundle that includes a carry-on bag and a checked bag, but it will slap $72.45 on the cost of your trip. Most people likely need at least carry-on luggage when they travel unless they are going for a one-day conference.
