This weekend I took my little family on a last minute adventure to the Sunshine Coast to stay at Rockwater Secret Cove Resort for a night. It's a place my wife and a visited a couple years back on a , and I mentioned it in my feature I recently did on CKNW. I wanted to bring our little 5 year old along and show him this fantastic spot which is fit for more than just romance.

When my wife and I visited the first time we stayed in the tenthouse you can see perched on the edge of the cliff in this photo. I shot this from our room in the lodge this weekend, which has also has a great view.

The lodge rooms are comfortable and roomy, and unlike the tenthouses and the cabins on the property they're right above the restaurant and the pool. Proximity to amenities for the win!

And as I've said a thousand times, I absolutely love traveling the coast during these wet months. Not only is it relatively quiet in terms of other people, but there's just something magical about getting up and exploring the properties of these places we visit after (or during) a fresh rainfall.

And explore we did! This little kid of mine has been putting in some serious mileage on the coastal adventures, and he gives Rockwater Secret Cove the thumbs up.
