Have you embarked on a trip across B.C. yet?

If you've been waiting for more flight options across the province, WestJet has unveiled several new routes for travellers looking to visit local destinations as well as ones across Canada.

On June 25, Canada's second-largest airline announced that it was restarting eight routes to and from destinations across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. Additionally, WestJet will inaugurate 10 new routes by July 5.

As long as everything goes according to plan, the province will continue easing restrictions through the summer. On July 1, non-essential Canada-wide travel is slated to resume and increased capacity at both indoor and outdoor organized gatherings with a COVID-19 Safety Plan in place will be permitted. Following this, international travel is expected to resume on Sept. 7.

"We continue to work towards the restoration of our pre-COVID domestic network to ensure that when our guests are ready to travel, we are there for them," said John Weatherill, WestJet Chief Commercial Officer. "WestJet remains committed to building back stronger for the betterment of all Canadians and as we look ahead to reconnecting friends, family and loved ones, the safe restart of travel is essential to Canada's economic recovery."

By the end of June, WestJet will inaugurate new flights between Abbotsford and Prince George and restore WestJet Link service between Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»and Cranbrook.

This July, WestJet will offer non-stop service from Vancouver to 18 cities; from Victoria to eight cities; from Kelowna to seven cities; from Comox to four cities; and from Nanaimo to three cities.

From the communities of Kamloops, Penticton and Prince George, the airline will connect to two communities non-stop.

Dreaming of sipping a cocktail on an endless, glistening white sand beach?

While international travel is still a couple of months away for Canadians, WestJet will provide more service between Canada and Hawaii than any other airline this winter.

Canada's second-largest airline announced Thursday (June 10) that it will provide 57 round-trip flights on 10 nonstop routes for the winter 2021/2022 season. The new routes will feature more Dreamliner flight options from Western Canada to Maui and new non-stop service from Calgary to Kona and Lihue this winter.
