Hot deal: You can fly direct Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to Hawaii for only $216

One airline's lowest fare does not include a carry-on bag anymore.

Flights from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to Hawaii are some of the most affordable and convenient options heading south of the border.

Flights from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»International Airport (YVR) to Kahului Airport (OGG) cost under $400 return depending on when you want to travel, and one-way tickets cost just over $200 direct.

WestJet and Air Canada typically offer the best prices on the popular route but travellers should keep their eye on baggage allowance before booking tickets.

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to Hawaii flights have fewer inclusions with WestJet in the lowest fare class

Travellers booking tickets in WestJet's lowest fare class may no longer bring carry-on luggage with them in the cabin.

On Tuesday, June 4, the airline replaced its Basic fare with the new UltraBasic one, removing the free carry-on bag for customers booking the cheapest tickets. They must also board the plane last now.

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»travellers can get the best deals on one-way, direct flights from YVR to OGG starting in October and continuing through November. Prices start at $216 on multiple dates with Air Canada and WestJet (see slide two).

But travellers who don't need to check a bag and can get away with carry-on luggage and a personal item may want to book with Air Canada. Canada's largest airline includes a free carry-on bag with a checked one for $35 (see slide three).

WestJet's lowest fare does not include a carry-on bag and the first piece of checked luggage costs $65 (see slide four).

Round-trip tickets are cheaper with Air Canada in the fall

Travellers looking for round-trip, direct options from Vancouver to the Aloha state can find cheaper options with Air Canada.

Prices start at $360 for return trips with direct flights in November with Canada's flag carrier (see slide five).
