There are a number of places to for a walk with your furry best pal in the Lower Mainland, but dog-friendly hikes offer more scenic outings.

What's more, a hike will allow you and Fido to get in a good workout, as many of the region's hikes offer heart-pumping inclines over steep terrain.

Check out some of the best Lower Mainland hikes that offer breathtaking views (to enjoy with your dog, of course).

Dog Mountain offers an easy, short hike just off Seymour Mountain. In addition, the journey has a breathtaking view of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»after a relatively minor incline. As the name hints, this is a dog-friendly area, so hikers are free to bring along their four-legged friends. However, they aren't permitted off the leash.

There isn’t really ever a bad time for this incredibly beautiful spot. Not only does it have a beautiful lighthouse, but it offers beautiful rocky shores to walk along, as well as deep, lush woods. Best of all – this unique gem is a short drive from downtown Vancouver. Hikers will have to keep their pooches leashed, though.
