While Canadian travellers may visit a picturesque region of Italy for free until May, some of the country's most popular tourist attractions will cost a little bit more this year.
One of Europe's oldest museums, the Uffizi Gallery located in Florence, houses Sandro Botticelli's masterpiece 'The Birth of Venus' and welcomes thousands of art lovers annually.
But entrance fees will be increasing in the spring, with the gallery citing rising energy and construction costs.
As of March 1, during the high season until Nov. 30, , up from the current price of €$20 (C$28.89). There will be a €$6 discount for early guests who visit the Gallery between 8:15 a.m. and 8:55 a.m., according to the gallery's website.
Italian Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano has also announced that American families should be able to at the county's major attractions, including places like Pompeii and the Pantheon, according to Forbes.
