"Mo’ snow, mo’ problems"

It was a chaotic snowfall in Metro 鶹ýӳon all forms of transportation on Monday, Dec. 19 and Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022.

Chaos is a word Vancouverites have heard a lot this week and from the looks of it, will continue to hear as our infrastructure attempts to handle the most recent dump of snow.

Parts of Metro 鶹ýӳsaw as much as 20 cm of snowfall overnight Monday (Dec. 19) and it continues to severely affect traffic, transit, and YVR Airport Tuesday.

TransLink has issued a warning to anyone who has to use its services today to "expect considerable delays." Last night locals shared videos of crowded SkyTrain platforms and snow falling inside the train cars.

Buses also struggled in the snow yesterday and one had to be rescued on Cambie.

Planes didn't fare much better. YVR cancelled most flights on Tuesday morning to focus on clearing the crowd of passengers and baggage that was accumulating in the terminal.

One well-known TikToker with over 700K followers is stuck in 鶹ýӳfor Christmas because of the cancellations.

If you’re flying to YVR, maybe rethink checking in a bag. We landed at 11pm and by 4am we still hadn’t seen our bags

Quite a few cars got stuck in the snow at intersections during the storm last night. One person even had to get out and push their car. A Vancouverite watching from her window makes a plea to drivers to get winter tires or stay off the roads.
