Vancouverites are notorious for our habit of saying "thank you" to our transit drivers when we step off buses, so for plenty of riders it's just a natural daily reflex. The movement and designation of the day has been spearheaded by TriMet, the transit agency in Portland, Oregon, but here in Vancouver, TransLink is definitely on board with Transit Driver Appreciation Day, too.

Not surprisingly, we agree that transit operators can be pretty awesome here in Metro Vancouver. Recently we put out a call for submissions for your favourite TransLink bus drivers, and we were absolutely bowled over by the volume of responses, and got some incredible stories from our readers.
