Public transit is FREE on New Year's Eve in Vancouver

To help get you to and from your celebrations safely, TransLink is offering FREE public transit system-wide on New Year's Eve until 5 am on New Year's Day.

To help get you to and from your celebrations safely, TransLink is offering FREE public transit system-wide on New Year's Eve until 5 am on New Year's Day.

Starting at 5 pm on December 31, 2017 and ending at 5 am on January 1, 2018, riders will be able to ride all buses, SkyTrains, and the SeaBus at no charge. The West Coast Express, however, will not be in operation.

There are some important service changes to note, however:

  • Buses will run on a modified Sunday/holiday schedule; some routes will be adjusted to reflect ridership levels. Use the  to check your route and bus times.
  • SeaBus will run on a modified Sunday/holiday schedule, with extended evening service. The last sailing from Lonsdale Quay will be at 2:02 a.m.; the last sailing from Waterfront will be at 02:22 a.m.
  • SkyTrain (Expo, Millennium and Canada Lines) will run on a modified Sunday/holiday schedule, with more frequent trains throughout the evening. Last trains will be approximately one hour later.

Service on January 1, 2018 will be the regular Sunday/holiday schedule for all buses, SeaBus, and SkyTrain. West Coast Express will not be running, however, and TransLink's Lost Property and Compass Customer Service Centre will be closed for the day.
