UPDATE 7:21 a.m.: Canada Line is now resuming full service. The issue has been resolved. It will take some time for trains to return to normal spacing and frequency.

A major snarl is already wreaking havoc on the Friday a.m. commute in Metro Vancouver, as TransLink confirms a track issue has caused a delay to Canada Line service.

The issue is pinned to a stalled train at the Oakridge/41st station.

A shuttle train is in place to move passengers in and out of Oakridge station.

"Customers travelling towards Waterfront should change trains at Marine Drive Station and customers travelling towards YVR/Richmond-Brighouse should change trains at Oakridge to continue their journey."

Additionally, a bus bridge is also currently being put in place for outbound passengers from Marine Drive to Waterfront.

The Expo and Millennium Lines are unaffected, and are running normally, notes TransLink.

Customers should expect to see additonal security and Transit Police at stations to help with safety and crowd control.

"Our crews are working hard to restore full service," adds TransLink via email.
