Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»transit users have been asked to pack their patience and pad their commute times Wednesday, as bus operators will once again refuse overtime as part of their ongoing contract dispute job action.
TransLink has issued the following blanket alert for Wednesday, similar to that of Monday:
"Due to job action, Customers may experience reduced frequency on some bus routes on Wednesday Nov 20. Please plan for extra travel time."
There are over 400 service alerts in place for bus routes across Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Wednesday morning. While a portion of those are related to construction, stop changes, and other disruptions not related to the job action, a significant amount are trip cancellations scattered across routes all through the region.
For example, 20 of the 25 alerts for the 95 B-Line route are trip cancellations affiliated with job action, while all 14 of the alerts for the 125 Patterson Station/BCIT route are trip cancellations.
All of the alerts are viewable on , which is updated throughout the day.
There are currently no posted SeaBus cancellations as of early Wednesday morning.
Unifor, the union representing about 5,000 operators and maintenance workers employed by TransLink's bus division, Coast Mountain Bus Company, will be holding a press conference later Wednesday morning to discuss their next steps in the job action.
Additionally, following the press conference, Unifor plans to hold strike training for workers, which will include assembling signs for picketing.
