If Dec. 26 is a travel day for you or your out-of-town holiday guests and you'll be heading to or from YVR Airport, take note: Boxing Day bargain hunters may snarl up traffic in the area.

YVR is cautioning that traffic around the airport may be impacted on Dec. 26 due to an anticipated high volume of shoppers bound for nearby McArthurGlen Designer Outlet.

Vancouver's airport says the "have a comprehensive plan in place" for traffic for the day, however they say they are still "expecting heavy congestion" throughout Boxing Day.

To avoid any unwanted delays, if you are driving, give yourself plenty of time to get to the terminal or parking lot on ahead of time. You can pre-book long-term parking online. However, if you will be using the Value Long Term lot, adjacent to Templeton Station, be aware that you may be delayed due to its close proximity to the Designer Outlet Centre.

If at all possible, YVR is urging passengers and those seeing off travellers to use the Canada Line, which stops right between the airports International and Domestic Terminals.
