This Wednesday, the City of Surrey is delivering an online celebration to remember, and you’ll have to tune into the live broadcast to score some amazing prizes!

During the livestream event, Surrey Canada Day will be giving away grand prizes valued at $500 for Best Buy, Guildtown Town Centre, and Central City Shopping Centre every hour on Facebook Live. When Canadian Olympian and host Hayley Wickenheiser announces the contest, viewers will be invited to tag their friends in the comments to be entered to win.

The free all-day virtual event begins at 10:30 a.m. with an all-ages family hour. Main programming for the online festival starts at 6 p.m., featuring musical performances from headliners Colin James, 54-40, Bif Naked and Alex Cuba, along with many other local Canadian artists throughout the night. The event will conclude with a virtual fireworks display you don’t want to miss.

Surrey Canada Day has added a number of special guests to their line-up, including Canadian Olympic athletes, members of Surrey sports teams from the BC Lions and Surrey Eagles, and local television and radio personalities.

In honour of this year’s theme of virtual connection and community, the event will feature personalized photos and videos shared from residents across Surrey and the Lower Mainland wishing Canadians a Happy Canada Day.

While this Canada Day may be different, our appreciation and support of Canadian creativity and community keeps our national pride and civic spirit as alive as ever.
