Summer is almost over, but there’s still 13 opportunities to enjoy one of Vancouver’s favourite seasonal pastimes…

Since 1951, the have brought smiles to the faces of countless fans, creating memories that will last a lifetime. If you haven’t already been to a game at Nat Bailey, you are seriously missing out! Above and beyond great baseball, there’s 3ft long hotdogs, sushi races… It’s a long list, so we’ve compiled the whole thing below!

SUSHI MASCOT RACES

Simply known as the Sushi Races, the Canadians’ Sushi Mascots; Ms. BC Roll, Mr. Kappa Maki and the sinister Chef Wasabi go head-to-head for sushi supremacy at the top of every 4th inning. It sounds silly and it totally is. That’s why it’s AWESOME.

THE FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA

The Canadians host their signature Fireworks Extravaganza events throughout the summer. There are three fireworks displays scheduled for the remainder of the season, including August 10, 17, and 24.

ROOT BEER FLOATS

There are two A&W Family Fun Sunday games left in the season, which will see FREE Root Beer and A&W Root Beer floats grace the concession stand menu. Kids under the age of 12 will also have the opportunity to run the bases after the game. Hey, it’s a great way to burn off that sugar high!

BASEBALL LEGENDS

Select Canadians games will welcome baseball legends to the Nat Bailey diamond. Victoria’s own Rich Harden (formerly of the Oakland Athletics and the Chicago Cubs), will be in attendance on August 8th and the“Superstar Series” presented by Fortis BC. The first 2,000 fans will receive a commemorative Rich Harden Baseball Card.

Oh the delicacies of a baseball game! Giant hotdogs are 鶹ýӳCanadians tradition and yes, they’re actually 3ft long.

FREE STUFF

Throughout the season, the Canadians give away tons of free swag, ranging from fleece blankets to sunglasses and hats. There’s even giveaways arranged especially for kids. You can view the Canadians’ full promotional schedule .

CRAFT BEER

Last year the Canadians unveiled an expanded craft beer menu you this gives attendees some absolutely delish options to sip and savour in the summer sun.

HOT DOG SUSHI

Two of the Canadians’ most iconic attractions come together in their new hot dog sushi roll which will be available in limited quantities throughout the summer. YUM.

Select Canadians games will raise funds for meaningful charities and social initiatives including the Ride to Conquer Cancer, Big Brothers and Sisters, and the Special Olympics.

THE GAME

We almost forgot, the sport itself! As the only official minor league team in Canada, the 鶹ýӳCanadians are an absolute MUST for anyone that has a passion for the game.

The best thing about Canadians games are all the people that come together to make a super fun, relaxed and family friendly day centred around baseball. In addition to being the only official minor league team in Canada, the 鶹ýӳCanadians also have some of the best fans out there.
