For too many of us, growing up means losing touch with our imagination.
By the time most people hit their twenties, making wishes on dandelions, eyelashes and shooting stars is nothing more than a childhood memory. Instead, we鈥檙e more concerned with paying bills, surfing Craigslist for cheap apartment rentals and dodging the intermittent rain showers that no weatherman can seem to predict. But it鈥檚 crucial for dreamers of all ages to reignite that imaginative spark whenever possible.
To help bring that magic back, we asked Vancouverites what they would ask for if they had three wishes. Their answers proved that even if we have adult responsibilities now, there鈥檚 still a kid in all of us.
Thomas, 29, DJ and 3D modeller
鈥淗mm, if I could have three wishes? I think I would ask to be taken on a tour of the universe by friendly aliens, the ability to look into the future, and a talking dog.鈥
Sharon, 19, student and waitress
鈥淭hat鈥檚 a hard question. I鈥檇 definitely ask for ten million dollars! Then probably true love and being able to live a healthy life until the age of 90.鈥
Jamie, 22, retail worker
鈥淚f I could, I would wish to be able to fly, have the power of invisibility, and get rid of all of my debt.鈥
While these are all wonderful wishes, fulfilling them seemed to be a bit outside the realm of possibility for our team (at least, for now). What is possible is granting an alternative (but just as inspired) wish that will make your day better: a sandwish.
A sandwish is that frequent and familiar moment when you long for a custom-made, delightful SUBWAY sandwich.
So when we asked Sharon, Jamie, and Thomas what their sandwish 鈥 or dream sandwich 鈥 was, they gave us these tantalizing responses:
Sharon: Ham with white cheddar, spinach, onions, peppers and jalapenos with Dijon mustard and light mayo on grilled sourdough.
Jamie: My dream sandwich would be a pizza sub with chicken on it, mixed with some lettuce and southwest chipotle sauce on Italian herbs and cheese.
Thomas: A cheese, tomato and spinach sandwich . . . which plays electronic music that gets more intense the closer you are to finishing eating it.
Although a musical sub isn鈥檛 on the menu just yet, SUBWAY is making customers鈥 dreams a reality. A select number of 鈥渟andwishers鈥, like Sharon, Jamie and Thomas, will see their sandwish come true with a SUBWAY gift card. Now that鈥檚 the sort of wish fulfillment that will satisfy both our inner child and our adult appetites.
If reading those sandwishes inspired some ideas of your own, take to Twitter and tell your #SUBWAYSandwish for a chance for it to be granted.
