Here are three of Neumann’s top tips to elevate your backyard summer BBQs.
1. Start with a clean grill
When it comes to speeding up the process of scrubbing your grill clean, we recommend using steam or vinegar – especially if that grime just isn't budging. Both will help break up that stubborn grease and burnt-on food, but if you opt for vinegar, we recommend spraying it onto your grill using a spray bottle and then scraping at the grime with a ball of aluminum foil.

2. Marinating matters
Before placing your steaks on the grill, coat each side with oil and season with salt and pepper in a small bowl. To allow the marinade to both tenderize and flavour the meat, you’ll want to leave the steaks to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.
And when you do go to cook, make sure your grill is preheated to a high heat. For rare, cook each side for one and a half minutes. For medium-rare, cook each side for 3 minutes. Or, for well-done, cook each side for four minutes.
Before you eat them, allow the steaks to cool for 5-10 minutes after cooking.
3. Add fruits for a sweet, juicy twist
One of the best ways to liven up your meal is by adding grilled stone fruits, like peaches, plums or nectarines. While your grill is heating to medium-high, cut your favourite stone fruits and drizzle them with olive oil. Place them cut-side down and grill for two to four minutes until charred. Remove with a metal spatula and serve with a dollop of yogurt.
