will celebrate its 74th year with a better-than-ever Canada Day Celebration on July 1st!

This year’s festival, which is presented by YVR, will extend beyond its traditional home in Steveston Park and include family-friendly activities and entertainment from Britannia Shipyards to the Gulf of Georgia Cannery.

All the crowd favourites will return, including the region’s largest Canada Day parade, the children’s bicycle parade, vintage car show and the longstanding and mouth-watering tradition of the salmon barbecue. There will also be plenty of new activities to reign in Canada’s 152nd year...

Headlining the Main Stage, presented by TD Bank, will be Canadian rock radio mainstays, 54-40. Vancouver’s own Bend Sinister and Steveston staples Urban Myth and Line 49 will also hit the stage to help celebrate Canada’s birthday. The music won’t stop there, Steveston Village will host nine stages with over 50 performances, highlighting some of the best local talent Richmond and the Lower Mainland have to offer.

Festival goers will have a chance to check out Sammy’s Fun Zone, featuring carnival fun for the whole family and a stage with kid-friendly performances all day. The day will be capped off with a fantastic fireworks show along the waterfront of Steveston Village.

Note that the famous salmon BBQ sells out every year. The Wild Pacific Sockeye Salmon is expertly barbecued over an alder wood fire and served with salad, bun, and beverage. Plates are $16 per person (prices subject to change) and there will also be food trucks and vendors cooking up a storm throughout the day, not to mention this year’s epic chow-mein feast!
