Meeting new people is a challenge, especially in a city like Vancouver. Fortunately there are groups and events all over the city that aim to push individuals out of their comfort zone (and sometimes out of airplanes), all in the spirit of putting yourself out there and having fun.

hosts extraordinary singles throughout the year in Vancouver, including four absolutely exhilarating adventures coming up this month. Check out the events we’re most excited about below, or visit them for more info.

Skydiving over Qualicum Beach

On May 19, Events & Adventures will host a skydiving experience with a “drop zone” that includes spectacular views of the ocean, Sunshine Coast and 鶹ýӳIsland. They’ve partnered with Skydive 鶹ýӳIsland  to offer members an incredible package including one tandem skydive, a fully edited 6-minute video of your experience and transportation to and from Qualicum Beach. If you want to get outside your comfort zone or are seeking making connections with like-minded adrenaline junkies, don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime group hang!

Exploring the hidden caves of 鶹ýӳIsland

There’s also an epic three-hour multi cave tour; a thrilling trip that highlights the powerful natural forces that carve 鶹ýӳIsland’s underground tunnels and crystal-filled caverns. Follow rivers, slide down the ramps and ladders and climb an underground waterfall on this fabulous adventure – a small taste of “wild” caving!

Both of these adventures are offered as part of a long-weekend getaway package happening from May 18 to 20 courtesy of Events & Adventures Vancouver.

Hiking the "second largest granite monolith in the world"

The Chief towers high above the town of Squamish and is a popular hiking destination that offers scenic views of Howe Sound and several mountains in Garibaldi Provincial Park. During this day-outing, you’ll complete all three peaks of the Chief (definitely a bucket-list experience) and enjoy a scenic lunch along the way. The Chief is an extreme stair climb with amazing rewards at the end, including a shared experience amongst (new) friends. The hike takes place May 25 in Squamish, B.C.

Giving back to families in times of need

While volunteer work may not be as thrilling as tandem skydiving, it’s certainly as memorable. On May 26, Events & Adventures members will prepare a delicious meal for the families who call Ronald McDonald House BC home. A night off from cooking, doing dishes and having to worry about preparing a healthy, delicious meal is a huge relief for a family in-need. Not only does this help families mitigate the stress of having to prepare a meal, but it also helps them with some of the costs that they are faced with when they come to 鶹ýӳin search of life-saving medical treatment for their child.
