TransLink is inviting you to have your say on how to improve the transit fare system through its .
They're looking for feedback on options for pricing fares by distance, new ways to structure fare products, and the possibility of expanding customer discounts.
It’s all part of the Transit Fare Review, a comprehensive four-phase review taking a fresh look at how TransLink prices transit in Metro Vancouver.
In Phase 1 and 2, TransLink heard from respondents that the current zone-based fare system doesn’t work well and they’d like to see a system that prices fares more closely to distances travelled.
Now in Phase 3, TransLink is looking to share more details on how a distance-based fare structure could work on our transit system and how these options would affect prices.
TransLink has narrowed down options for fares by distance and are asking for feedback in the Phase 3 Transit Fare Review survey. The two proposed options are: fares priced by kilometre on rapid transit with a flat fare on bus, or fares priced by kilometre across the entire transit system.
