This season, Mt Seymour will be hosting Charity Thursday Nights, a chance for the community to come together and ski or snowboard under the lights all while raising money for four local charities in B.C.
Here's how it works:
One Thursday every month from 5:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. on (full schedule below), Mt. Seymour tickets will be sold for just $20. Half of every ticket sale will be donated to that night's charity. This year's participating charities include The Canucks Autism Network & SUPA Society, BC SPCA and the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Giving isn't something new for Mt Seymour. In fact, for the last five seasons, Mt Seymour has been supporting a local community- based charity, called The Bloom Group, through the mountain's weekly “Shred For The Cause” Monday night events. The Bloom Group has been providing some of the most progressive social services for women and children in Vancouver’s Downtown East Side for over 50 years. Last year Mt Seymour was able to raise and donate $27,000 to this incredible initiative while having a ton of fun along the way.
“Charity Thursdays enables us to give back to the community, to those who need it while working closely with local charities to deliver a fun night of skiing and snowboarding with a special purpose,” says, Eddie Wood, Mt Seymour’s President and General Manager.
Mark it in your calendars, get your crew together and come and do some laps while making a difference on Charity Thursday Nights at Mt Seymour!
