Presented by Goh Ballet, is one of the most beloved holiday traditions in Vancouver, offering families, couples and friends the opportunity to unplug, come together and enjoy some timeless holiday cheer.

 

This year, which marks the 11th anniversary of Goh Ballet’s production, will feature a faithful reproduction of the holiday classic complete with dramatic sets, and lavish costumes. Featuring world-renowned dancers from the National Ballet of China, The National Ballet of Canada, and Bavarian State Ballet, Goh Ballet’s The Nutcracker is  set to Tchaikovsky’s memorable score, which will be performed live by members of the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Opera Orchestra.

Goh Ballet’s production is choreographed by B.C.’s own legendary Anna-Marie Holmes, an award-winning ballerina and choreographer who has appeared and has taught in more than thirty countries on five continents. Known for her interpretations of the Russian classics, Ms. Holmes has produced or set these great works in Lisbon, Oslo, Helsinki, Antwerp, Naples, Florence, New York and Tokyo. Her staging of “Le Corsaire” for American Ballet Theater appeared on PBS’s “Great Performances”, for which it won an Emmy Award.
