When moved into at Wesbrook Village, she never imagined she would end up leading art classes for residents at both of Tapestry’s Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»communities for independent seniors. An accomplished artist, Teresa continues to pursue her artistic passions and share her incredible talent with other residents who have discovered their own creative aptitudes.

“The resident art classes have been a great success,” says Teresa, who moved into Wesbrook Village after a trial stay convinced her it was the perfect community to live in for the next phase of her life. “Residents who have never drawn or painted before joined the classes and are succeeding. It is just marvelous. I love seeing people happy and satisfied – and sometimes even astonished by what they create.”

Tapestry proudly encourages residents, like Teresa, to share their passions to create an environment where others can explore new interests, and in doing so, co-create a culture of wellness based on unique community preferences. Wellness is essential to maintain independence and Tapestry is committed to offering a so residents can strengthen mind, body and spirit as they continue to live meaningful and purposeful lives.

Teresa’s art classes are thriving, as are other resident-led programs and initiatives, including lectures on philosophy, astronomy and travel, as well as creative writing classes, book clubs and other activities that support life-long learning, connection and engagement. Residents have the flexibility to choose to be as busy as they wish based on their personal interests and desires.

“Our residents define what is important to them and we happily encourage and enable their efforts to create an active aging environment that is authentically local,” says Adena Waffle, Senior Vice President. “Our approach is what makes Tapestry truly unique as active aging communities for independent seniors.”
