In partnership with the province’s Go Electric program, E2 Inc. is bringing the expertise of EJTC to the rapidly-developing and fast-growing electric vehicle market.
, or the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program, is a course that provides training and certification for electricians installing electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) and charging equipment. The program is designed to address the need for the installation and maintenance of the EV charging infrastructure in the safest and most cost-effective manner.

EVITP™ is designed to deliver the most comprehensive training for the installation of EVSE equipment in North America, and is taught by qualified instructors with considerable experience in their areas of industry expertise. More than just a technical installation course, EVITP™ offers a complete overview of the Electric Vehicle industry.
This three-day training program will instruct electricians in the best practices for installing EV equipment, covering code, safety, customer service, and the following topics:
- Automobile Manufacturer’s charging specifications
- EV battery types and charging characteristics
- Customer relations, customer service, customer satisfaction
- Utility interconnect policies and requirements
- Utility grid stress precautions
- Installing, commission, and maintaining electrical
- Storage devices
- Charging station fundamentals
- Service level assessments and upgrade implementation
- Canadian Electrical Code requirements
- First Responder safety and fire hazard measures
- Site Surveys
Night classes will be held via Zoom over the course of eight 3 hour sessions, concluding with an on-campus examination. Upon completion of the EVITP™ training course, program participants will receive their Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Installation certification.
To be eligible to receive certification and 50% training cost subsidy from the Province of B.C., you must be a journeyperson electrician and must provide your Certificate of Qualification at the time of program registration. This subsidy applies to B.C. residents only.
