Chutzpah! Festival features enigmatic performers and performances from the world’s most exciting cultural hubs. October 24 - November 24 in Vancouver.
When we go out to see a performance, whether it be a live band or a poetry reading, we’re often seeking more than just entertainment.
We’re looking to witness someone on stage who believes in themselves and what they stand for. We’re looking to be inspired, to fuel the fire inside that will lead us to create and maybe even perform our own works of art.
If you’re looking to be inspired, look no further than this year’s Chutzpah! Festival.
Now in its 19th year of celebrating culturally rich works in comedy, music, theatre and dance, the Chutzpah! Festival has established a reputation for presenting Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»audiences with new and exciting, critically acclaimed artists from all over the world.
While there’s definitely something for everyone, this festival is really about celebrating artists who embody the meaning of chutzpah, in whatever discipline they call their own.
This means you can expect to see powerful work from both seasoned veterans and burgeoning artists from Canada, England, Israel, Italy, El Salvador, the USA and beyond. While varied in theme and approach, each performance is striking, courageous, and totally unique.
This year’s standout performers include the Canadian premiere of celebrated comedian Sandra Bernhard’s new musical comedy show (taking place Halloween at the Vogue Theatre), plus Ethiopian-Israeli singer AvevA, the groundbreaking MM Contemporary Dance Company and even a LatinX adaption of The Diary of Anne Frank LatinX. Chutzpah! Festival was launched in 2001 by the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»West Side Theatre Society. Still headquartered in The Norman Rothstein Theatre located at the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver, the 19th annual Chutzpah! Festival will take place in venues across Vancouver.
So, are you looking to be moved? Inspired? Maybe even challenged?
Maybe you just need a little chutzpah!
Featuring 20+ performers, Chutzpah! Festival will run from October 24 to November 24, 2019 in Vancouver. To purchase tickets or learn more about this year’s festival, visit
