All that glitters is not gold, but one event that recently set sail on the high seas of Vancouver’s Coal Harbour offered glitz, glamour and a golden opportunity to give back.
Hosted by on Aug 30, 2024, the Sail and Savor fundraiser event served as an ideal venue for guests of diverse industries and backgrounds to network and dress to the nines while raising over $10,000 for ’s Housing Action Fund, a testament to Nook’s vision of kindness and reciprocity.
Putting the ‘fun’ in fundraising
Comprising an unforgettable experience aboard a luxurious yacht sailing along Vancouver's stunning waterfront, the magical Sail and Savor evening was hosted to commemorate Nook’s first anniversary and gesture of appreciation to the many business professionals, community leaders and partners that have contributed to Nook’s success throughout its first year of operation.

In true “Nook” fashion, the night was filled with incredible gourmet food catered by Pacific Yacht Charters and live performances from talented musicians and DJs within Nook’s community like the West Coast Groove, Leela Holt, Rob Eller, Dreema, Sisi, and Karla on the saxophone, all while cruising from Coal Harbour to English Bay, False Creek and Science World.
The guest list was remarkable with over 150 professionals, entrepreneurs, community leaders and changemakers in attendance with notable special guests.
Special appearances included Miss Glamour Look Philippines 2020, Madellene Andrukow, Miss Face of Beauty Canada 2018, Arshin Masjoudi, Mr. Teen International 2019, Jyn Lloyd Andrukow and Canadian actor, director and writer, Mia Fiona Kut. The event was MC-ed by communications specialist and professional beatboxer Jackson Wu.
The event raised funds for the YWCA through ticket sales and an. The provides women with safe and affordable options in order to leave violent situations and pursue education, employment and a self-sustaining life.
