Unique 'Earthship' home hits the market for half the price of a house in Vancouver

This may be the ultimate in self-sufficient living

A property with two "earthships" has hit the market for just over $1 million. of house built using natural and recycled materials and focusing on low ecological impact and self-sufficiency.

However, it's the unusual homes that are the most attention-grabbing feature.

Built into the earth, the semi-buried houses use a variety of materials along with a timber frame to create unique homesteads. 

A of the construction of the homes shows pop or beer cans, tires, and glass bottles were used.
