Photos: Private island almost within view of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»selling for $5.75 million

Its price has been reduced by $750,000

It might be a long commute to boat in from Norway Island to Vancouver, but it would probably be one of the nicest commutes in the world.

The Southern Gulf Island is currently on the , recently reduced from $6.5 million. Located between Thetis Island and Galiano Island, it's only about 35 km to Delta or Richmond and 50 km from downtown Vancouver.

And unlike other private islands on the market, it has a house. In fact, it has a couple.

There's a main house, a log cabin for guests, and a caretaker's residence. The 30-acre island also has an in-ground pool and a tennis court, for recreation, and a small orchard for growing your own fruit.

Electricity comes through a cable from Thetis Island and fresh water is pumped up from five wells drilled around the island.

Of course, there's also the ocean; nearby rocks often offer seals a place to sunbathe, and sea life can sometimes be spotted swimming past. And while the island is rocky, there's a protected cove with a dock for more stable boarding.

There are also views of the surrounding islands and the mainland in the distance. Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»is almost visible from the western shore, but Galiano Island's north end gets in the way; Bowen Island is visible though.

Listing agent Makr Lester tells V.I.A. it was the first private island he sold in 1998 (he's sold 30 now). He also sold it in 2005, when it went for more than $3 million.
