Jan 16, 2014: Built City @MOV: Rewild

How wild could Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Be? Join us this Thursday, January 16 at 7pm for Built City @MOV: Rewild, which is certain to be a provocative discussion about our city’s forgotten wild relationship to nature, and a glimpse of a wild urban future. In dialogue with Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­author J.B. MacKinnon (best known for The 100-Mile Diet) and Margaret Long, landscape architect and principal at PWL Partnership Landscape Architects Inc. Moderated by Trevor Boddy. Built City is a series of lectures and dialogues (co-curated by the MOV and ), that invites city thinkers from all disciplines and areas to explore urban design issues as they relate to Vancouver.

Jan 30, 2014: Youth City Lab Free Open House Information Session

Vancouver, for the Curious (Youth)! Calling 15-18 year old high school students across Metro Vancouver. Youth City Lab gives you the opportunity to work with leading designers, curators and urbanists; and to learn more about the complex forces affecting our city. Cultivating creative insight, museum skills, and design sensibilities, the after-school sessions include site visits and urban explorations, behind-the-scenes experiences with MOV, and access to Emily Carr's design labs.

Feb 1, 2014: City in Song

On February 1, join us at the MOV to discover what happens when you bring together 9 musicians and 60,000 artifacts for 1 evening of City in Song. were invited into the MOV's extensive collection and asked to each write an original song inspired by an artifact they discovered there. Come and witness the world premiere of those songs on February 1, at 7:00pm. With performances by Leah Abramson (Abramson Singers), Beshele Caron (Greenbelt Collective), Eden Fine Day, Tariq Hussain, Rick Maddocks (Sun Belt), Corbin Murdoch (The Nautical Miles), David Newberry, Jenny Ritter and Jasper Sloan Yip.
