Words: Jason Vanderhill
Today’s featured cat is Alister, presented by artist who works as a printmaker at the on Granville Island. Alister likes to think of himself as fearsome and not easily intimidated, but he is in fact quick to befriend all those who take the time to meet him.
Name: Alister
Breed/Colouring: Gray Tabby
Hood: Main Street
Habits: Especially playful with small strangers. Likes to find new and unusual stakeouts throughout the city; not afraid to waltz down an alley or two. Witty, and quick on his paws.
Hangouts: DTES, Main St, Waterfront
Here he can be seen perched high atop 375 Main Street, known as the Ford or Dawson Building. Designed in 1911 and built in 1912, the shape and repetition of these tall towers always seemed to remind me of a handsome set of books on a bookshelf. As it turns out, Alister feels the same way, and he wanted to share his great taste in art and architecture with all of you today.
