Have you ever seen that brick chess board at 18th and Ontario in Mt Pleasant? Well somebody just dumped a full set of giant chess pieces there!
They're plastic pieces filled with sand, and hopefully they stick around for at least a few days so everybody can enjoy a game or two outdoors. Seriously, what would you do with these unless you also had a giant chess board? And if you have your own giant chess board you could probably afford to buy pieces for it... right?
