Remember last year during the provincial election when we shared to the platforms of the parties and encouraged you to vote for whoever you felt best suited you and your political views? Seeing as the NPA just announced their mayoral candidate today () I wanted to give everybody a heads up to the political stories we're going to be doing over the next few months (SPOILER: we won't be doing many).
The idea is to keep it short and sweet and to simply share a look at the platforms of the major parties a few weeks before the election to give you a jumping off point so you can explore what , the , the , and are all saying they plan to do should they be elected. If any of the fringe parties who are popping up gain traction and are polling well (and if their executives and/or candidates haven't trolled us, online or elsewhere), we'll include them as well. We won't be giving any bullies a voice as that's basically the exact opposite of our mission.
Beyond the platforms of the good-willed folks who'll be vying to bring positive change to your city, we hope to be sharing another fun campaign that simply raises awareness of the importance of voting in and of itself, similar to the series of posters/images we shared during the last municipal election (some shown below). If you don't vote then you're not licensed to partake in one of Vancouver's favourite hobbies, and that is complaining about how you wish things were different! Stay tuned leading up to November 15th, 2014.
