After two summers spent bringing visitors on a magical multimedia journey through Cougar Mountain's forest, Vallea Lumina is expanding its offerings to the winter for the first time.
The new winter experience, set to debut Nov. 28, will see the popular show's lights, soundscapes and scenography—created by Montreal-based entertainment studio Moment Factory and powered by local activity provider The Adventure Group—adapted into a "winter wonderland," Vallea Lumina announced on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
"We've been so thrilled with the response received from both locals and visitors from around the world that we knew we had to take Vallea Lumina to the next level with a winter experience." said Joey Houssian, founder and CEO of The Adventure Group in a release.
"We can't wait for you to see what we have created in the snow; it's magical and truly a winter wonderland."
While the storyline, which follows the trail of two hikers who are seeking a mystical hidden valley where stardust falls from the sky, will remain the same as the summer experience, repeat visitors will notice changes to the first half of the trail.
Unlike the summer trail, it will offer smooth surfaces that are easy to walk on and well-lit with minimal elevation gain and loss.
Just as in the summer months, Vallea Lumina visitors will be able to enjoy marshmallows, hot chocolate and other non-alcoholic refreshments and snacks at base camp prior to entering the show.
Admission to Vallea Lumina will cost $29.99 per adult and $24.99 per youth, including the complimentary shuttle between Whistler Village and the Cougar Mountain.
Vallea Lumina's summer season will run nightly until Oct. 13. The new winter experience will run nightly until April 2020.
