PLACE: Thetis Lake ()ÌýLOCATION: Victoria, B.C.

I WANT TO TELL YOU, about my recent weekend spent unplugged and cliff jumping near Victoria, BC.  If you have any suggestions for an UNPLUGGED post, message me and we'll create adventure! You can find me on Twitter () or look for my post here once a month.

What brought me to Victoria was Rock The Shores. It was an outdoor concert in featuring one of Canada’s favorite band, The Tragically Hip. The performances from all bands were great, but more notably was the park and venue – a beautiful reminder of how great this province and country really is! More info .

The day after the concert (Saturday July 14th) I asked the concierge at the Ocean Island Inn - where I was staying - what my friends and I should get up to that sunny day. She said a 15 minute drive up Six Mile Road, there was a quiet place called  where we could relax and soak up some sunshine. So, we took her suggestion and went to check it out.

After a quick drive and short walk down a park trail, we arrived at the ever-peaceful lake. Aside from some families using the public beach, it was a surprisingly quite and perfectly calm environment. We continued walking down the path and found a secluded beach area to hang out. The water was still, sun was shining and everyone was smiling.

To our pleasant surprise, we met some other local enthusiastic beachgoers that day, who shared with us a local secret – their highly prized cliff jumping spot. As you could imagine (from the , I was very excited! We had fun jumping all day, keeping it low key in the sun with our newly found friends.

This was a cheap and easy weekend spent unplugged. I seriously recommend you get out and enjoy the easy living before all the summer runs out!   Note:  I am compiling a list of cliff jumping spots to share via Unplugged, if you want to share or contribute, please Tweet me.Â
