Great things happen when powerhouses form alliances and work together, and I was absolutely thrilled when I heard that our friends at the were working with our friends at the on a series of talks called the Salmon Dialogues focused on Pacific Salmon and associated issues.

The first one is happening this Wednesday when they're bringing in Alaskan fine artist Ray Troll (yes, there is a fishing pun to be had with his name). Ray's fish-themed works have been shown around the world, he's been on the Discovery Channel, lectured at Cornell, Harvard and Yale, has shown work at the Smithsonian and he's even had a fish named after him! A a New Zealand species called Hydrolagus trolli.

He'll be doing a talk followed by the Aquarium's President and CEO John Nightingale and his counterpart from the Pacific Salmon Foundation, Dr. Brian Riddell, who will discuss the evolution and goals of this exciting new collaboration that promises to raise the profile of Pacific salmon at the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Aquarium in a major way in the years to come.
