We were sent the video below which shows the Discovery Passage investigative dive where concerned citizens gathered the samples, as well another one where they went underwater in Tofino. Interwoven is some ominous music and conjecture, but it's well worth watching. We also received a statement from the Executive Director of , Dan Lewis, who says that “Wild Chinook in Clayoquot Sound are in serious decline — is this the smoking gun? The last thing wild fish need is a foreign disease being introduced which is already adapted to the local gene pool.” The NDP Government has been changes to open-pen salmon farm regulations lately amidst of the industry's practices in BC, and it would seem timely that this video (filmed in April, June and October) is coming out now. Environment Minister George Heyman has said the province will send an inspector in the next few days to visit the packing plant, and we'll see how the government further responds to the critical mass that seems to have got their attention.
