It's 5 am on Wednesday July 5th.
I am about to ride to Charlottetown, then Victoria to a Halibut Farm (never seen a Halibut Farm before) all West Coast Halibut is wild, stay tuned for pics!
We will finish the day at 150 km at the Confederation Bridge that links PEI to New Brunswick.
PEI rocks!
Last weekend in Halifax was incredible.
The Maritimes is such a wonderful part of Canada - full of special places and wonderful people.
We are doing good work. It feels like the awareness we are building is important work.
The belief that hard and honest work can earn you a living from the Ocean already exists here, and has for generations.
Let’s try to bring awareness and education to that. We all want to make sure the fishing industry is a viable one for generations to come.
Last night’s event in PEI was a home run with Chef Michael Smith! The event was at Inn at Bay Fortune abad was a sell out at 90 people. We could have sold it out twice! What a crowd.
Fisherman were the stars, they brought local halibut, lobster, mussels, char, clams, we had sturgeon and caviar from the West Coast. And delicious and local, in-season strawberry short cake for dessert. It was spectacular. I’m very grateful to Michael Smith, PEI, and all participating chefs and guests. This place is magical. We will be back. Hopefully next year for the Souris Village Feast with Chefs for Oceans.
The support for CFO, and healthy lakes, oceans and rivers is incredible on the East Coast. It is evident that commitment to taking care of these resources is in their culture, community, history and future.
We are all in the together.
Onwards
