For years, the sign at Templeton Park has offered a simple laugh for passersby.
Located in Grandview-Woodlands at 700 Templeton Street, the park itself is quite simple: 2 hectares on which lie a field, a kid's playground and an indoor pool in which the neighbourhood kids learn to swim and the locals do laps.
And, of course, this sign which says "Templeton Park and Poo". On both sides.
Some joker scratched out the l's in "Pool" long ago and the Park Board is seemingly indifferent about their replacement.
We'll probably never know the true identity of the mischief maker who created this work. Unlike Dude Chilling Park whose sign was upended by prankster/artist Viktor Briestensky (who went on to infamy) the identity of the true artist behind the Park and Poo sign will likely never be known.
There is one hint, however. Located directly across from it - about 20 metres as Canuck the neighbourhood crow flies - is .
Roughly 800 students walk by the sign on their way into school every day. In this writer's opinion they are blessed to be in the presence of the best Park Board sign in the entire city.
