Bob Kronbauer: Don't throw the City's leftover bricks into windows - they're art now!

If you leave materials for long enough, eventually someone will turn them into art

Dozens of bricks left in the cement parking lot that is the soon-to-be-renewed public park in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»have been transformed into a sculpture by an unknown artist.

Brickwork was completed a couple of weeks back and passersby may have noticed that there were two pallets left over. The pallets had loose bricks sitting on them which remained untouched for days until, near the end of last week, someone rearranged them.

That someone apparently goes by the name "SKIBUM," as that's what they wrote in bricks near the circular sculpture they crafted with the bricks.

Curious about whose bricks they were, V.I.A. reached out to the City of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»with specific questions about exactly when the work was done, why the bricks were there, etc.

We received a vague statement back letting us know that an outside contractor was responsible for the brickwork, that they "have contacted the contractor," and that "the bricks will be removed as soon as possible as the work is complete."

If you're on Main and you see the bricks, please do not throw them into nearby windows. They're art now!
