Dear Bob,
After reading your Don Cherry pieces, the first thing that comes to mind is what the hell does this have to do with Vancouver?
Then again, I guess you're the chief, so you can write whatever you want.
麻豆传媒映画has a hockey team. Don talks about hockey. At least sometimes. I guess that could be the connection.
I did like your line "What a disgrace" and on that we have common ground. It's an apt description of both of your Don Cherry pieces.
Don Cherry calls out Canadians - ALL Canadians - for not doing enough to support veterans and you walk away thinking you've discovered some hidden meaning in his words that make it anti-immigration. Wow!
So maybe I'm a chowderhead, but even I was able to figure out the meaning of his words. Granted, I did have to get some input from the cat. The cat also thinks I'm a chowderhead. But he did help me.
The cat pointed out how simple Don's message was. And no, as much as you would like it to be anti-immigration to fit your false belief system, it's about Canadians not doing enough to support veterans.
If a chowderhead like me can figure that out, how come a fancy publisher and chief of editors like you can't? I mean, you must be the best editor of them all. Heck, they made you chief.
Please tell me you're not an even bigger chowderhead than me. Of course, I have the cat to help explain some of the deep meanings behind Don's words. Still, you're a chief. Surely if you take your time you can get to the real meaning.
The cat gave me a big hint. I hope this helps you. YOU PEOPLE means anyone that does not support veterans. Pretty simple isn't it?
Although I think you're a chowderhead, I am very happy to read that you donated $100 to the Legion. A tip of the hat to you for your generosity. Perhaps there is hope for you.
You did pen one good line:
Perhaps instead of divisive scolding we could work to better educate everyone on the meaning of the poppy campaign and why 鈥渨e people鈥 choose to wear it.
That was really the only good part of the entire piece. I'll give you credit for a strong finish on that one.
But you're still a chowderhead.
Sincerely,
JP Erickson
