Yesterday Sportsnet issued a statement apologizing for 85-year-old hockey commentator Don Cherry's anti-immigrant remarks that were broadcast on Hockey Night In Canada on Saturday.
"Don’s discriminatory comments are offensive and they do not represent our values and what we stand for as a network," Sportsnet President Bart Yabsley said in a statement Sunday.
"We have spoken with Don about the severity of this issue and we sincerely apologize for these divisive remarks."
Ron MacLean apologized live on television ahead of Sunday night's Sportsnet broadcast.
: Coach's Corner co-host Ron MacLean has apologized to Canadians for the comments Don Cherry made regarding immigrants, saying in part, "I sat there, did not catch it and did not respond," during the opening of Rogers Hometown Hockey Sunday.

It would seem that everybody involved has apologized for Don Cherry's remarks.
Everybody except for Grapes, that is. And according to today, it doesn't seem he's going to.
Speaking to Joe Warmington, Cherry noted that "I said my piece and I will leave it there."
As I wrote yesterday, Cherry’s rant on immigrants was also a gross disrespect to veterans.
What a disgrace.
