Toronto paramedics sent seven people to hospital to be treated for suspected carbon monoxide poisoning after an industrial accident at a North York construction site.

Paramedics say one man was in serious condition but stable condition while the other six were described as minor cases.

They say 12 people were assessed at the scene.

Police say the emergency crews were called to Yonge Street and Cummer Avenue shortly before 1:30 p.m. for reports of an industrial accident.

They say there appeared to be ventilation issues with machinery exhaust.

Police say the Ministry of Labour will continue the investigation.
